Course Overview:

The AHA Instructor Course is designed for individuals who want to become certified to teach American Heart Association CPR and/or First Aid courses. This course prepares you to lead classes, evaluate student performance, and issue official AHA eCards through an aligned Training Center or Training Site. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a 2-year Instructor eCard from AHA, allowing you to teach the discipline(s) in which you're certified.

• Anyone passionate about teaching life-saving skills

What You’ll Learn:

• How to teach AHA courses using the official materials

• Classroom setup and course delivery best practices

• How to evaluate and coach students during skills testing

• AHA instructor responsibilities, policies, and compliance

• How to manage rosters, eCards, and records

Course Requirements:

• Current AHA Provider eCard in BLS or Heartsaver (depending on instructor track)

• All documents must be submitted and approved by Sherry for the skills check prior to registration

• Payment must be made in full or arrangements made with instructor at (512) 662-1031

• Completion of the AHA Instructor Essentials Online Course(s)

• Alignment with an AHA Training Center or Training Site

• Teaching a monitored class within 6 months after this session
